Charterhouse, King’s Canterbury or Oundle

Hello, overseas mum here!
Would love to hear views on above schools. We are looking at admissions for Y9 for our first son. Offer has come through for Kings; awaiting updates from the other two.
Being an overseas family, full boarding would be ideal. CH was first choice, but still waiting for news. Through other forums, have come to learn it gets empty on weekends. Is that true? Also get this feeling they’re a bit pompous about their ‘name’. Kings appears more relaxed and friendly, and comes highly recommended. Pastoral reviews seem mixed, though. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

@Next11 i can send you a message- is it for a boy or a girl? I know the girls houses better as my girls are both boarders - my son was a day boy.

Hi could you tell me something about the houses which are allocated to international students in the sixth form please at Kings School Canterbury

Hi there, as far as I’m aware if they are attending main school (not the international college) they will have the usual choice of houses. It’s certainly not that all the international students are allocated the same house. My daughter’s house has about thirty girls in sixth form (upper and lower) and I’d guess that st least ten of them are international. If you ask the school which houses have availability then you can ask about specific houses.
