Good Afternoon, we are new in Uk and London and we didn’t have a chance to visit any school only virtual openings, so I need your honest views about CLSG, G&L, SHHS, and Highgate please.
We are still waiting for offers or WS hopefully, but we need to make a provisional decisions at least, if you have any experience with any of these schools or any information +/- please do share, I’m grateful to all of you.

I'd repost this with the names if the schools you're interested in as the topic to get people to comment.

... or the area. Lots of people (me) won't have any clue what schools you mean.

If you're waiting for offers why not ask for more info if/when you get them. They are super competitive schools so you'll be lucky to get offers from all of them which may mean some of the advice isn't needed.

I definitely wouldn't be making any 'provisional decisions' without offers.

You are comparing singles sex and mixed sex, inner London and north London etc.

Wait and see what's on the table and then ask. It's only a few weeks now.

I agree with PP that you're better off posting a new message with the names of the schools in the titles. Also that it might be worth waiting until you know what your offers are (though not sure if City Girls are still doing their 'exploding' offers so might be worth asking them).

I've got two at SHHS and would thoroughly recommend - every single policy and approach is just so sensible. I know that sounds dull but I think recent events have shown the importance of good sense. They just think about everything they do through the prism of evidence and the promotion of wellbeing. The head is superb.

However, the other schools are all great too although different feels - for instance Highgate has expansive grounds and City doesn't. But they're miles away from one another. If you were to get offers from all of them, I'd just go for the one that's quickest/simplest to get to. In terms of academic results, they're similar enough to mean that your dd would likely get exactly the same or one grade in one subject difference and the rest is all a bit intangible (for example, you've no idea if the fancy theatre will be used by your dd or not).

I can definitely wait until offers day but I’ve read a lot about exploding offers, therefore I’m really worried if we don’t accept straight away we will lose her place, that’s why I wanted to have any views from the parents as they are the most honest ones.

They are certainly geographically diverse and you have hit all London areas. Where do you live and what are the journey times to each school?

NewMum112 · 03/02/2021 12:06

Thank you all for your responses. I value your opinions greatly.
We live in North West London NW, but I don’t mind driving if my daughter is going to be happy at whichever school
