Hello all, this thread continues from the previous "Upcoming Girl's Independent SW London Schools 11+ Exams" thread set up by @Oceane11Plus.

@PatoPato cleverly noticed, message slots were running low for the epic long thread as above, so all chat now continues here...

Hi @GU21Mum no idea if LEH wait list has started moving yet, sorry. But received an email yesterday which among one of the things asked parents to respond quickly to help with the waiting list. Good luck!

southwestlondonmum · 23/02/2021 09:08

Thanks! Great to hear that once WLs start to move we will hear it here! Fingers crossed there will be some movement on the WHS and PHS WLs soon!

dazedandconfused11plus · 23/02/2021 09:21

Hopefully movement soon and if I hear of anything I'll update this thread, and I'm sure others will too. It seems that each time an offer gets released it helps move the whole clunky system forwards!

GU21Mum · 23/02/2021 11:50

@dazedandconfused11plus thanks for your reply

Sweetnhappy · 23/02/2021 13:19

Waiting lists tend to start moving the week after the state school offers come out.

southwestlondonmum · 23/02/2021 13:41

That’s good to know. What is the date when State School Offers are announced? Are they emailed out on Monday 1 March? Or posted on Monday 1 March and so received Tuesday 2 March or later? Thanks!

MumsRule20 · 23/02/2021 13:50

@southwestlondonmum State National Offer Day is next week Monday 1st by email in the evening.

@southwestlondonmum The timings may well be dependent on the borough. I remember last year emails came through in the afternoon for many...

Thanks so much! Wow - that's a super tight window if State school offers will only come out on Mon 1st in the afternoon/evening and the the acceptance deadline for schools like WHS & PHS is 12 noon Wed 3rd Mar! Doesn't sounds like it leaves much time at all for movement!

stuckasastuckthing · 23/02/2021 16:31

@dazedandconfused11plus we haven't had an LEH email - just wondering whether there was anything else useful/important in it?

sw15sw15 · 23/02/2021 17:30

@Sweetnhappy

Waiting lists tend to start moving the week after the state school offers come out.
When we went through all this with DD a couple of years ago the waitlists began to move like wildfire at around midday the day after the state school offers came out. It was a bit easier as offers day was on a Thursday and most acceptances were due in on the Monday as they didn't count the weekend!
Sweetnhappy · 23/02/2021 19:07

@sw15sw15 Yes, we had this two years ago when the state school offers came out at 5pm on Friday and our acceptances were due by midday on Monday. In a way it was good but to have too long to drag out the thinking.

Hi, just to say we have been been reading this thread in the last month, it has been really helpful and so thank you to everyone who has contributed. Wish we had found/seen it sooner! We have been fortunate in a very random year, and been able to make a choice. We have released offers from PHS and JAGS, so hopefully that helps those on waiting lists (good luck and fingers crossed!). Got a couple more kids to go but will cross that bridge when we get there! What a stressful process!

Stircrazyschoolmum · 23/02/2021 20:17

Welcome @threemonkies glad its been helpful..
Where did you decide on?!

southwestlondonmum · 23/02/2021 20:43

Huge congrats on those amazing offers! Really appreciate you being so thoughtful to have released PHS and JAGS offers to help start movements on WLs for those schools. It is really reassuring to hear these positive updates. Thank you so much for kindly having shared.

threemonkies · 23/02/2021 21:26

@Stircrazyschoolmum thank you. DD got and went for SPGS in the end, although it wasn't plain sailing. WHS was one of our top choices and we were WL there earlier on. Feedback that NVR let DD down in the ISEB pre-test, although she got 141 in the CATS for that.

@southwestlondonmum from reading the posts and speaking to other parents in our position I'm sure the WLs will move, although appreciate it will be a nail biting and stressful time. As people take offers the size of the WLs will also reduce.

Stircrazyschoolmum · 23/02/2021 22:31

@southwestlondonmum I’m sorry you are still waiting and have everything crossed for you. I think a lot of people released offers early on (me included) but because they over offer it hasn’t dented the waitlist yet. The big shuffle will be 1 March but it’s tight for WHS and PHS because their deadline is early.

Keeping everything crossed for you. xx

Stircrazyschoolmum · 23/02/2021 22:34

@threemonkies wow! I think there are a few experienced SPGS parents floating around if you need any insider knowledge but well done and how nice to start planning for the future. Grin

Stircrazyschoolmum · 23/02/2021 22:35

So SW London board.. who is still undecided?!? Grin

Stircrazyschoolmum · 23/02/2021 22:37

I think I’ve put the wrong emoji on both my last two posts.. thank goodness it wasnt me sitting the 11+!

southwestlondonmum · 24/02/2021 09:11

Thank you @Stircrazyschoolmum! Super grateful to you and all the other lovelies on this thread who have all been so very kind and thoughtful to release the multiple offers that your DD's have been lucky enough to receive. What offer did you accept?

Stircrazyschoolmum · 24/02/2021 09:35

@southwestlondonmum we are between jags and phs.. the jags offer day isn’t until Saturday and given DH and DD haven’t visited the school we can’t make an informed choice until then.. argh!

ViolettasAria · 24/02/2021 09:57

Hi all, I’ve also been reading this thread since early February and it’s been so lovely, helpful and comforting to read. I have no idea why I didn’t look for it earlier in the process! It been an exhausting process and in combination with homelearning I think it’s really been full on for the children. My daughter was really lucky and has come out with a few great offers. I’m finding it so hard to decide but have set myself the deadline of tomorrow so should be releasing a few places at that point. Absolutely love WH and were thrilled when my daughter was offered an academic scholarship but sadly we are most likely going to turn it down as she has offers closer to home. Struggling to chose between G&L and SPGS. Have always loved Godolphin but am finding it hard to figure out SPGS. A lots of mums with girls in year 7/8 seem to love it and don’t see any evidence of pressure on the girls however there does seem to be some indication that from year 10 things change and the pressure does become quite immense. I’m desperate to do the right thing by my daughter.

threemonkies · 24/02/2021 10:16

@southwestlondonmum fwiw everyone we know who has an offer has more than one, and some have 4 or 5, so unless the schools have massively over offered there has to be movement at some point

WarmAndco3y · 24/02/2021 10:40

Taking some comfort from everyone’s affirmations both on here and in real life that there will be movement. And I think my ‘head’ can see the logic of it.
But my heart is wondering if the schools have accounted for this to an extent in offers they’ve made.
I’ve told myself it won’t be until around the 3rd of March at least before we start to see any movement and realistically maybe even the 5th.
Anyone doing the Woldingham offer holders’ event this evening???
