Which secondary schools would you move house to get into

We are growing out of our London flat and need to move in the next couple of years. Local state secondaries aren't great so I'm thinking we should move to be in catchment for better schools when the time comes. I have a DD and a DS.

We're still several years away from applications but it got me wondering about the best state secondary schools in London... what are the ones that people traditionally move to catchment to get into? Camden School for Girls? Alexandra Park? Fortismere? What about in South London? Would love to hear views.

If you think that yours are grammar material, then Sutton, Bexley, Orpington, Kent all have good options to offer and more space for your money, whilst still commutable to London.

I live in north London and if I had a DS and a DD, I would move for Alexandra Park School.

Having said that the catchment is tiny, properties are expensive and finding a primary with places for your children might be hard.

In South London, there is the Charter School in Dulwich which is co-ed.

It is one of the best schools in the country and is consistently in the top 5 performing comprehensives in London on raw test scores: its value add scores are in the top 1% in the country. It regularly sends kids to Oxbridge / Russel Group universities.

However, it's catchment is tiny so you'll need a reasonably decent budget.
