With the new rules what is your school doing if private, whether day or especially boarding??

Just that... keen to know what they are doing and whether the national rules apply to them or they are acting more independently??

Of course the national rules apply to them.

People have a very strange intepretation of "independent" really means in this context...

Yes following the rules regarding return and testing.

However already geared up to provide remote learning for all year groups (ie. y7-13) from 5th (day ours were due to return).

Ours have followed the rules so far. We did break up over a week earlier than the state schools around here though. The school had full online learning last time, did a great job-but would expect that with the fee's we all pay :-) We are being notified of arrangements tomorrow.

Where the contingency framework is implemented, secondary schools should only allow vulnerable children, children of critical workers, pupils in years 11 and 13 and other pupils due to take external exams this academic year, to attend. High-quality remote educationn_ should be provided for all other pupils.

This was in the updated guidance today. I have a DC doing an early GCSE in Year 10 and another DC doing a late GCSE in Year 12. In theory, they should be allowed back but unlikely

Independents must also follow "the rules". We are fully remote learning from Monday across all year groups. I feel a bit anxious about it, as I am just so at home in my classroom. I had to really really think about my remote lessons in the first lock down. I can't just grab my board markers to illustrate a point or draw an intentionally ridiculous diagram to make the kids laugh. I'm not really a "PowerPoint" teacher and I just wanted to be back in my classroom with my massive whiteboards. I know the reasons, I'm just a bit down about it.
