Secondary school teachers how are our teens coping?

I ask this as my year teenage son seems to have become quite disruptive in class and has lost any motivation which to far he didn't have a lot before but he just isn't really responding to school. He's having to stay behind an extra hour each day and seems tired, stressed and just fed up with it all. He's not even doing homework. My friends son seems to be the same and says he's just so tired and the teachers are all stressed and they are seeing alot of bad behaviour . So how are you guys coping?

I have to say that ours (comprehensive state) have been great. Really glad to be back, worried about exams and the potential to have to self-isolate, but definitely working “with” staff in terms of behaviour and effort. We’ve been conscious not to panic them though, the words “behind” and “catch up” are banned and we are focussing on high quality lessons with lots of knowledge retrieval built in rather than keeping them after school. They are very tired having been off for so long but also our new linger lessons.

Hi! I read this post and the first thing that came to mind was this article on the effect of missed exams on students this year. I don't know your sons studying style, but this might help to explain some of the difficulties he and his classmates may be facing, as it's a common revision technique.

Hope this helps :)
