My daughter just showed me tweets about this school. Students have come forward with all sorts of information of its treatment of BAME students and its behavior/pastoral care towards some of its non white students?

Does anyone have children in this school? Can you offer insight?

Does Wandsworth have access to CT records for other boroughs?

Yes, all of the pan-London area shares council tax data.

Wandsworth is hot on address checks for Honeywell and Belleville that I'm really surprised to hear they don't for Graveney.

What impact has the opening of Bolingbroke had on Graveney applications from that area? Because that was the area that I thought was a fairly large part of the issue

It's a well known loophole, that you can parachute in for a while and then move back once the places are secure. I think you now have to maintain an address for a certain time before you move again. The sibling rule was maintained, so once one child is in ...

i thought Wandsworth had changed the rules so they used a permanent owned home as the main residence even if the address used for the application was a rented one?

I wonder if Graveney are going to continue with the selective stream it would be fairer to take a similar number of children from each primary school (and they have their own tests in the school to prevent over tutoring).

Having had 3 children take the WT it is the analytical maths-ey children who seem to suit it. Not sure it really is a great indicator of overall academic ability - seems to suit some children and not others.

Have heard good feedback from parents of children there (not just selective stream). it is a bit old school though. Also have heard good things about the Bolingbroke and Chestnut Grove. I think different schools suit different children.

Wandsworth do check CT records - you have to have disposed of your other residence if you own - you can't just rent near school

Graveney is not the only partially selective school using the WT - I doubt this will change anytime soon

Already know a family who've only started renting near Graveney and secondary school applications for their child is this year and the school isn't even at all close to their primary school.
I believe it's rampant and the school knows it.
Near where I grew up people rent to get into Fox Primary school, one of the highest performing state primaries in the country and with the tiniest catchment. People travel from as far as Shepherds Bush once in. I'm sure the school is aware and totally happy to have these sorts of families in their school.

If there is any parent of a student at graveney school who has felt they have been discriminated against - please do contact me. I am having similar problems as well as a couple other parents and it would be great to talk to others.
