I'm planning to apply Wycombe abbey for my dd in year 9. she scores pretty well ( not the top ones but higher than avg ), she knows 6 instruments, 5 sports, excellent at speech and drama. she's really good at all instruments and is now in diploma. Also may i know if you must have to be highly academic and rich to get in WAB ? thank you

Is your dd currently in year 9 and apply for 16+ or is she in year 7 or lower and apply for 13+? Are you talking about CAT score or..?

I don't know what you mean knowing sports and instruments but I don't think that just knowing 5 sports is an advantage because most of girls in private sector have experience of many sports and WA doesn't have sports scholarship etc.

Regarding music, if your daughter has diploma certificate with good mark, it is definitely advantage for music scholarship regardless knowing many instruments. I don't know much about 13+/16+ but my dd just finished 11+ and found out there are plenty of grade 7/8 distinction holders at age of 10/11 applying for music scholarship at top schools. So, probably expected standard might be higher at 13+/16+. I talked with the director of admission at WA and she says all girls must pass their academic criteria. Excellence of music can be supplementary but still need strong academic ability to get in. Just above average sounds not promising but she may have a chance if she has another couple of years for preparation.
You don't need to be extremely rich to get in. All you need is paying the fees.

If your dd is at prep, it's better to ask the head.

Good luck.
