Steyning Grammar vs Shoreham Academy

Hey all :) we are a South African family who have been in the North East for almost 3 years and will shortly be moving down to West Sussex. I will be working in Haywards Heath and don't mind about a 40 minute commute. I have 2 teens, a son going in to year 12 and a daughter going in to year 13. I have had to look very carefully for a 6th form that can take my daughter mid A levels. Both Steyning Grammar and Shoreham Academy have come through and been very helpful. Ideally I would like to live nearish to school so they can get themselves there are back. My 16yo son is ASD and doesn't do well with long public transport commutes but can manage. I have heard that Steyning is a better school but Shoreham would be more convenient for us. In addition with being foreigners it is important that the culture is understanding and accepting of them. I'd appreciate any thoughts and advice on which way to go?

Shoreham ACademy is very highly thought of in the area. Steyning have two sites and I think would much more difficult to travel from.

Shoreham is expensive but a lovely place to live and an easy hop to Brighton.

There is a great 6th form in a Brighton called BHASVIC. You could try there.

Thanks @dalrympy that is good to know, I was seeing mixed reviews on Shoreham so wanted to double check. I did try BHASVIC but they would not accept my daughter into year 13 and instead wanted her to repeat year 12 - I couldn't do that to her as she is a straight A student. I do like the look of Shoreham to live!

Try the Weald School in Billingshurst or St Paul's Catholic College in Burgess Hill (near to Haywards Heath too for work)- both have excellent sixth forms and Ofsted Outstanding. Then if not Collyers in Horsham is a great Sixth form college. All easy to get to on the train.

Thank you @speedy22 unfortunately they couldn't assist with our unique circumstances.
