Before anyone says to enjoy this time and not to worry about the future, this came from my Sisters and BIL’s!
My nieces and nephews have all placed in good schools, however many missed out on scholarships. Sisters are kicking themselves that they didn’t start the children on certain things earlier. DH went to Eton and missed out on Kings Scholarship and hopes for our DS to try for it, granted if when he gets to 8 or so, he seems happy to do so. My question is, what sort of provisions should I put in place to help him prior to that? I’ve been looking at programmes such as God’s Great Covenant for us to do with him when he’s old enough for RE studies, and Latin for Kids etc. Can anyone recommend Prep Schools, sports tutoring, music etc, academic tutoring outside of school and what my husband and I can help with. Perhaps if you work in recruitment or have experience with your children going through the system? Any feedback you received would be greatly appreciated.
I fully intend for him to have a loving childhood full
of play and fun. This is just a big thing within our family. My sisters and I went to a local grammar, but as said, DH and BIL went private and that’s the route that our next generation have all gone in too.
