Farnborough Hill School

Has anyone seen the Surrey live news article about Farnborough Hill's withdrawal from the Teachers Pension Scheme and the possible staff strike?

Why would such a successful school short change their staff and will this mean that loads will leave? Why can't they suspend their decision whilst the country is in a national emergency?

Is there more to this story than meets the eye?

I’ve heard that a large number of staff left last year but not sure why.. anyone shed any light??

That is curious. After all you would expect that staff would stay at a school where they were happy.

I would imagine that many will now be looking for other schools where the Heads have decided to stay in the Teachers Pension.

I wonder why the Head at Farnborough Hill wasn't quoted in the paper. That is odd in itself!

So it would seem that the school is only really interested in outward appearances and doesn't want to invest in it's key assets who are the staff.

What a sad state of affairs for a Roman Catholic school.

Ahh so that explains the investment in new logos etc.. tbh I wouldn’t choose a school based on criteria like that. I’d be far more interested in the quality of teaching..

What is the Headteacher's view on all this? There was another independent school who recently decided to put off the decision to leave the TPS and the Head wrote to parents a very affirming letter of staff even though they had striked.
