Frensham Heights for dyslexia and similar schools

Hi,

Looking for some suggestions and information as I start the search again for somewhere that might suit my 10 year-old DD. Having been turned down at 11+ for a pretty academic school, we have spoken to current school and have now been advised to look at Frensham Heights or similar.

She's exceptionally strong at music and performing arts, but has a dyslexia diagnosis, which now seems to be more of an issue than anyone had warned us. Confused

Spiky profile with very high VR/PR scores and very low Working Memory. Processing speed is average. Issues are most evident with spelling and she thinks a lot faster than her ability to translate thoughts to paper. Reading isn't a problem - other than it's not something she enjoys. Maths is okay. Very strong vocabulary and verbal abilities and a lot of self-confidence means that she masks well.

Music, drama and art are all strengths.

I'm not sure how mild the dyslexia needs to be for Frensham Heights to be happy to accept a child so any insight there is v welcome.

Also suggestions of other schools that could deal with a bright dyslexic AND offer music and drama at a sufficiently high standard.

King Edwards witley music department is good. They will often allow late sitting for 11+ entry especially for girls. St Edmunds may also be worth a go at this stage. Royal undergoing a lot of change but at this stage difficult to find places for year 7 in September

Off to look at websites for all of those!

We are open to boarding schools or London day-schools (there's nothing suitable round our area).

I applied for state as well as indie, so very open to schools that start in Y9 - we're looking for the right school rather than being in the situation of having literally nowhere to go in September.

Bedes ? includes a dance school .
Ardingly

King Edwards Witley and Bedes both look like good potentials.

DD dances to a fairly high level but it's not her passion so a nice to have but not essential.
