Hello,we are thinking of moving to glossop from London with our 4 and 10 yr old next September 2019.my husband’s family live there but I am from a different cultural background and been living in London for 18yrs.Any advice into areas to live with good primary and secondary schools?
We are looking to rent.
We have outstanding schools close by but quality of family life in London is lacking. Also I love the fact that we live in a multicultural society but concerned it’s very different in Glossop.
Any advice from people who have moved from other cities to Glossop with children?

Assume you mean Glossop in Derbyshire? If so it is not very multicultural at all. Rural Derbyshire is not, Derby City much more do.

I don't know schools there but there is one main secondary in Glossop, plus a cathollic one. Primaries you may have more choice. It's quite rural, Manchester probably the nearest place, not the kind of town I would have wanted to live in as a teenager tbh. Have you thought of Manchester itself?

If independent schools are a consideration, there's a small but significant number of kids that travel from Glossop into Manchester on the train every day. Manchester High, Manchester Grammar, Withington are all very academic and culturally diverse.

Hi,yes I do mean Glossop,Derbyshire...Yes bot very multicultural...we’re trying to leave the fast pace life in London...not sure if it will be the complete opposite for us all...my main concern has been the schools for both primary and secondary as the level seem to be average for most...and not challenging enough for some kids.Manchester would be like another city....but food for thought...

Thank you for the independent school suggestions.I will look into it.
I assume the trains are regular especially for those commuting?
