Do either Alleyns or Dulwich College support children with dyspraxia etc?

My son has hypermobility - quite visibly - and elements of dyspraxia - mildly - meaning that he is far better using a laptop than writing long essays by hand. Do either of these competitive schools look down on this kind of thing even if they may state they support neurodoversity? Any info much appreciated... thanks!

For secondary? Have you been to the Open days and spoken to the teaching staff? Is your child at a prep that regularly sends to these two schools as they would be able to advise? I think they both provide special arrangements for the tests but I don't know of anyone personally with additional educational needs that attends either school. None of the children we knew with, for example, dyslexia, got in. Colfe's seem to have good provision or Eltham College? Alleyns in particular is very competitive due to the shortage of spaces for Yr 7 entry.

State schools usually offer better SEN provision generally.

I think I will have to go to open days and ask as you suggest. According to the prep school he attends, my son is doing very well and shouldn’t have an issue but I did wonder if it was the case that schools can claim to support things like the use of a laptop and in reality choose applicants who don’t need to. Will do a bit more research and check out the names you suggest - thanks.

OP my ds is dyspraxic with hypermobility and had offers at 11 for Dulwich College and Alleyns, we went for DC and don't regret it, they have experience with dyspraxia and hypermobility. I don't want to put more info up here as outing but dm me and I will tell you everything I know!

Yes, they both do.

And DC seems to be putting increasingly more resources into this, because about a decade ago reviews started that it was good for mild, now it's mild and moderate.

Using a laptop is genuinely fine in both schools.

There is info readily available on websites and from open days. You seem to be coming at this with a view that support will be limited/absent. Have you looked at what they say about themselves, or been to any open days yet?

Can't find parallel, from Alleyns - but it'll be on website somewhere
