Dd text to say that her chemistry (Aqa triple higher) "went quite well". She's in computer science now so wont hear any more about it until this evening. I hope comp science goes well too, she needs the boost after yesterday's English lit.
It took hours last night for her to stop that involuntary gasping of air we do after a crying bout. The evening before, she was quite calm but said she had a pain in her chest and kept forgetting to breathe. I made her do some mindfulness.

I'm really confused by everyone saying about Macbeth and the porter. Dd says Shakespeare doesn't come up until paper 2 with ocr. So is the fact that the porter came up in other boards a pointer that she should make sure she is up to scratch on him for her board?

daisy how dreadful. I'm so sorry x pointy may know as she sadly has experience.

DS did AQA Trilogy Chemistry this morning which he reported was easy. He found biology more challenging but prefers it as a subject. CS is this afternoon.

I just want to spend the evening with dd scooped up on my knee cuddling her and kissing the top of her head, reassuring her and making her feel safe, with the hope that her smile would appear and the worry would leave her eyes. It's an impossibility though given that she's so much taller than me and my legs couldn't hold her frame.

Shes got her beloved sport training tonight so I hope that releases some endorphins for her and lifts her spirits a bit.

Solidarity with all the other parents and dc out there who are not enjoying the experience either.

Ds1 and I are working on a list of stuff we want to do/see over the summer whilst ds2 is still at school.

So far we are going to watch all the marvel films in order 😁
Then onto band of brothers and the Pacific.
Then hobbit and lord of the rings...

We will never leave the house!...😳🙄😁

I don't see how which questions came up for one board could have a correlation with those on another board, tbh

Edexcel IGCSE Chem - DD thought it was a good paper, but then admitted she had got a different answer to everyone else on one of the equations. Resisting the urge to check on StudentRoom, nothing to be done about it now anyway, so perhaps best not to know for sure.

Drama tomorrow, War Horse, so that should be as enjoyable as any exam can possibly be!

Iambuffy Yes, yes, yes, DD (and I, if I am honest) would love to join you in your Marvel/Hobbit/Lord of Rings fest Grin.

Ds's drama tomorrow is Blood Brothers which he loves and The landlord/landlady which he hates.

Won't hear how his chemistry went until around 5 as he's staying for revision classes. Science is not his strong point though and he will be thrilled with 4's.

My goodness me..my heart goes out to all of you with dc's feeling despondent and stressed with the exams.

My ds is in the same "camp" as pp in that they "are only GCSE'S" .
Unfortunately for him I am not in the same camp.😉

EDEXEL combined higher chemistry for us .
He told me a bit of his 6 marker....and i got some of it right !
I could hear ds1 (A level Chemistry) saying OMG She is correct !😋

I admire his composure, but fear the outcome without revision

I've got this with DS too - not sure when he's actually done any revision. I don't know if he's deluded or overconfident or both! That said, he is usually quite negative, so if he feels he's in a good place he probably is.

He's doing combined not triple science and said bio was ok, not good, not terrible, and chemistry today was fine. Eng lit was also fine (J&H and Macbeth) but the other Eng lit paper will be his weaker one as he doesn't see the point of poetry.

How is it possible to study the wrong text? There are several people involved including teachers and students who can all check syllabus requirements............. don't think that news is accurate?

Edexel chemistry here- higher paper. The message i got was - ' Mum it was bad. I got 9 marks, i counted them.' Chemistry is her weakest science but bloody hell i didnt think she was that bad Confused. I hope shes just being dramatic.
