Hello,

Due to unable to attend Habs this Autumn (11+), my son and I went with a private visit not long time ago.

DS son said it looks good but mainly he preferred to stay outside of classes during the trip which was a surprise to me. He found life in the corridors more attractive. Walls said much more about the school's character than staff.

To my sadness, I could not to see that school would like "to sell the product to the clever people". It looks as the school wanted to accept creamy children and absolutely not interested in the nature of child and their future.
Yes, there are good facilities but at the same time there are a lot of restrictions on them. Teachers mainly were not very talkative and often could not answer on the questions and etc.

I am really confused: to be at the highly selective top ranking school and see this approach it is nonsense.
Maybe I came at the wrong day (it is the 13th school we looked at) or missed something?

Please share with your experience and opinion.

Thanks.

What do you mean the school wanted to accept ‘creamy people’? And what were the restrictions on the facilities?

Your post is slightly odd, I think I need to know more. What are creamy children and what is life in the corridors? Most schools I’ve worked at keep pupils out the corridors if they’re not moving between lessons.

Applelepieco and Didiusfalco,

Thank you for the comments and questions.
I am agree, my post looks odd because it was odd to me.

I never saw DS at the corridor, always stayed in front of other children to listen a teacher and have a chance to practise. He said that exhibitions, stands and displays showed much more about the school than our guider. Only DT and ICT teachers tried to explain the importance of education and their approach method.

I never ever did not hear that only a drama the main subject, Gym and Water Polo (including competitive swimming) allowed from the Year 9 only, Art and Science departments are not important to attend. We were asked about our current school, our life style and income emphasizing the importance of high profit.

So, this is why I am stuck now, confused and looking for the parents advice.

Again thank you for the interest to my post.
