year 7 assessment %

Hello,
Our eldest is currently in year 7 and sits assessments every half term in all subject areas. They're given their results in percentages but I can't seem to find anything online to give a guidance of what an "average or age expected" percentage would be.
Does anyone have any information on this?

There aren’t any national guidelines. The school will set the assessments and the assessment criteria.

I agree with 99calm
You need to ask the school.

I tend to ask DD whether she knows the range of scores in her set.
So e.g. If she gets 45% I have no idea how that is. But if I learn that the range was 55-20% then I know she was at the upper end.

Also, some schools give different tests to different sets, and some don't.

IME it varies by subject and by test.
You need school to translate into something more along the lines of "expected", "below expected" etc. Are the DC really not told what the expected/average etc mark should be?

My sons school only seem to be in ability groups for Maths atm.
He said the children discuss their scores and assessment tips with their partner but they don't have a class discussion to find out what the result range is.
It's parents evening at the end of May so I'll have to raise it with the subject teachers then. I get the impression there isn't a huge amount of teacher feedback - maybe this comes in the higher secondary years?

We have the same, half termly tests, reported as a percentage until yr9. The class are given their score & the average for the year group, which is really helpful.
