So DC school the teachers are going above and beyond due to the farce of GCSEs change in content etc etc offering revision classes, doing everything they can to help them do well.

Obviously I could buy a shed load of biscuits (fortunately school is small about 500 pupils). What else though... literally some coffee, tea bags etc???

We did hampers following a residential, we did one of biscuits and chocolate, and another with lots of fresh fruit. Plus instant hot chocolate, tea bags, coffee.

It went down really well.

I'll skip the fresh fruit due to cost!!! Will include hot chocolate to the list though Smile

Why not emails of thanks (or gifts if you must) for the specific teachers of your DC?

I’ve certainly taught students whose parents have sent in a general thank you ‘for the staffroom’ and I’ve had none of it because it’s been taken by other staff.

Because it's all the teachers that teach GCSEs? In a small school that's most of them and only one staff room?

I think emails or cards to the teachers would be enough. I've never thrown a thank you card away, and I really do appreciate the thought.

pens
nice post it notes
desk note pads
hand cream

You could make up a hamper for the staff room.

Staffrooms run on cake. We are simple people.

Jamhandprints · 09/03/2019 16:54

They will have a kitty for tea and coffee but nice biscuits, chocolate or cake would go down well.

Biscuits etc for the staff and specific emails to probably half of the teachers seeing as one of my other DDs left last year!

We have to pay for our own tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk and staffroom snacks, etc. so all of those options would go down well.

And a nice letter and/or card to the staff will go down well too.

And a nice bottle of squash for those that don’t drink hot drinks

RandomMess · 10/03/2019 09:49

Yes I had thought of squash too Grin I could include some "cheap" fruit like apples and bananas provided I deliver on a Monday.

Just need to work out how to get there when the school is open around my working hours DD is going to be mortally embarrassed...
