Has anyone heard from CLSG yet? Any idea what time the results emails are coming out today?

The result is out, good luck everyone.
It is a free place for my DD.

PP1234 · 25/02/2019 12:47

Have you had the confirmation of your acceptance yet? Super-paranoid with the stories of previous offer withdrawals!

PP1234 · 25/02/2019 15:28

No haven't received any email confirming the receipt of my acceptance form yet and was wondering too. I know what you mean about being paranoid!

Good luck everyone and wow free place, @Kawasaki? Lucky you.

Does anyone know what the income threshold is to be considered for a bursary please? The bursar wouldn’t disclose when I asked.

My DD loves CLSG following the open day but we will find meeting the fees a challenge. Thanks

Applepieco · 22/04/2019 08:56

Was she offered a place? Have you accepted it? Do you have a state alternative?

Battenburg11 · 22/04/2019 20:18

No as she’s in Year 5. Her test will be in January 2020 but she really loves the place. She’ll be applying for the local grammar and local comprehensives as back up. Just wondering if anyone knew the income threshold as I heard for city boys, it’s £40K before you can be considered for a bursary but I may have been misinformed.

PettsWoodParadise · 22/04/2019 21:46

Give the bursar a call, they are usually quite approachable. I don’t know about City but many independents don’t just take income into account - so whilst income can be a helpful guideline in assessing qualification for a bursary they take into account assets too. So if you have equity in a home or business that can be considered as part of the equation.

Battenburg11 · 22/04/2019 22:18

Thanks, how does equity in assets work please? Would I need to remortgage or sell my home to fund the fees?

PettsWoodParadise · 23/04/2019 02:17

Probably best talk to the bursar and/or a specialist school fee funding company. In theory yes if you had equity you might be expected to make the choice of selling or remortgaging to pay for fees. Someone who rented of course would not have that option.

Bitlost · 23/04/2019 07:16

Please don’t remortgage your house for school fees. My PIL did this and have faced real financial hardship as a consequence later on in life.

Battenburg11,
Just sent you a PM re: a bursary place.
