Colfe's 11 + anyone heard? Or have previous info?

DS sat Colfe's on Saturday and has applied for a sports scholarship which is scheduled for tomorrow but only if you are notified. I just wondered if anyone had heard back from them yet? Seems like such a tight turnaround! Or info from previous years to save me chewing my fingers off?

Hi all, did anyone go to the reception at St Dunstan's yesterday? How was it?

So much has happened since we were all waiting for offers! I hope everyone is happy with their child's offers and are close to making a decision.

DS was offered Colfes, St Dunstans and Eltham. We are beyond delighted. He did a really enjoyable taster session at Eltham and we had a long chat with the head, and that swung it for us. So we didn't go to St Dunstans for the reception last night as we had already made a decision, and, having spent so long being undecided, I am so glad that we finally have a plan.

That's amazing ....well done to your DS!! We got offers from Colfe's and SD. I think if we got an offer from Eltham, we would have chose Eltham too.

Well done to your DS too mtyousaf. Fantastic news. Do you know which to accept yet? DS loved SD when he went there, as did I. DH really liked Colfes. I don't think you could go wrong tbh.

I'm edging on Colfe's ..but will make a final decision after making a final visit to both. What did you like most about SD @WellTidy?

I liked the system they have where there is an extended lunchtime for the children to spend lots of time at clubs, that there are so many diverse clubs and the social opportunities they bring. Also the huge emphasis and investment in mental health and wellbeing. And that they are actively looking for rounded children, not just academic children. Ds loved the food in the canteen, and it did look absolutely excellent with loads of choice and great quality!

Dear parents,

My DD has an 11+ sports assessment next week where they will assess her fitness and football and netball skills. Please could anyone shed light on what is expected of them to do? Apparently they test their fitness level, speed, agility and endurance. How exactly do they do all this? What will she be asked to do? She’s nervous and we just want to get an idea so that there’s nothing unexpected that may throw her or put her off. She’s fit and a good football player but she’s thin and not muscular or strong so we’re a bit worried.

Please can someone specify what the fitness assessment involves exactly?
