Altrincham Grammar for Boys

This is a long way off because I am currently 38 weeks pregnant with my baby boy, however I wanted to ask about the catchment for Altrincham Grammar for Boys. I have checked out the school's website, but can anyone with experience tell me...do they take boys from Salford?

We currently live in Didsbury but are looking to move. We've found a great house, but secondary school is a major consideration.

I know it will depend on his intelligence, but we would like the option to be available to him.

Hi, they do allocate a number of places outside the catchment area, believe the allocation is done by the score of the admission test, you have to score really high to stand a chance. I think the pass mark is 334, a high score would be around 370+ from previous years out of catchment areas.
