GCSE re-marks - due back when?

Sorry if this is already covered in one of the big GCSE threads. Just wondered if anyone knew when to expect a re-mark back. It was for AQA biology, I don't think it was requested until 2nd week of September if that makes any difference.

Turnaround should be within 20 days of receipt by the exam board, although IME they come back quicker than that.

Have the school received the result and not told you?

Thank you Noblegiraffe

The school requested the re-mark, so I'm expecting they'll tell DS directly when it's received. Although he probably wouldn't go out of his way to find out - might have to give him a poke!

We just got AQA German back, up 5 marks on the one we had reviewed and up a grade to Level 9. One very happy child 😊 That’s an 18% increase on one paper, I do wonder how they can get it so wrong!
Still waiting on music moderation which the school have contested.

Yes. It should be no more than 20 days to turnaround.

He got the result back yesterday. Needed to go up 2 marks to the next grade but actually went down 3.

Does anyone ever get a remark where the marks don't change?!

My other son, when he did his exams, had a science paper go up by 15 marks.

DD had French paper review (we were not going to bother with a review given DD was happy with the grade - but the school went through the written paper Edexcel and thought she had been harshly marked and encouraged a review). She was one mark off an A and she went up two marks with the review so now has the A... Its nice in some respects to have the higher grade - given that she managed to go from an E at the start of Yr 11 to an A!
