Low predicted grades - severe dyslexia

My DD has got bad predicted grades - CDD.
She has very bad dyslexia, and has every permitted concession as she suffers from it so badly ( via a 16+ assessment) but would like to go to a good university. Once there - she would do well as she would be eligible for 1 to 1 help. She got 3 A's at GCSE for English, English Lit and Maths, and her report says she is of above average intelligence.
Any suggestions as to how to proceed? Her predicted grades won't get her entry to University.

Mine didn’t either, I did an access course to get to uni, it takes longer but the way it was run - in modules was much better for me as I wasn’t having a remember a year, or more worth of information for an exam. But gave me more confidence before going. And you should get help for her at college too. It’s not ideal if she wants to go to uni direct - I wasn’t ready to though.

Think it’s awful predicting grades, almost the school saying they think you’ll do crap I actually did better than school thought, because being dyslexic I think they assumed I was incapable.

My mum always told me I could be whatever I wanted - I wanted to be a nurse and 13 years qualified that’s what I am. Good luck to your daughter

Hi Kaykay
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. And an access course is a great idea - I hadn't thought about that.
I'll look into it and find out more.
Our school seems really mean about this - when my eldest daughter was going to Uni her friends' schools all gave them much better predicted grades than they should have had and they got conditional offers - when they didn't get the grades the Uni's still gave them the places!

Which A-levels is she taking?

I’m not clear about her GCSE results - were the 3 As her best marks? I’m afraid that a student who got mostly Bs and below would not generally be expected to go on to get A*/A at A-level - if the school thinks she is going to get CDD at A-level then predicting her higher grades won’t result in higher grades and she wouldn’t get into the university courses in the end anyway.

If the school are giving her all permitted concessions, then what more would you like them to do?

If you think she will do better than predicted would she consider taking a year out and applying with her known grades?
