Can anyone recommend best place to buy these as my dd seems to be anti-Clarks now she is moving to secondary school?

I'm a secondary teacher and mum of a secondary pupil. Prior to him starting I researched what most kids in my school were wearing, the majority - kickers shoes (our school don't allow the boot version).
I cannot tell you how much anguish this saved as my son fitted in straight away. They also last brilliantly.
The girls and boys wear them in mine, so it might be an option?
We got ours from Office.

We’ve always been to a local independent shop. Dd had Start Rite plain black Mary Jane (Samba) then Angry Angels brogues then Geox.

Ds has mostly had plain laced Geox shoes.

Depends how strict the policy is. Standard would be Startrite Angry Angels or maybe Clarks from a store like John Lewis but some schools are particular about non rubberised soles, polishable leather etc.

Kickers boots for both Girls and boys are our school. I was delighted because they really are a sensible supportive shoe. We get them from amazon.

I can understand why any school would disallow the boot version, they are absolutely the bestest

Our school is kickers... price vary from £45-£90 depending on shoe size but they last and really sturdy

Mine would only wear brogues from shoe zone, turned her nose up at anything else. They were cheap so we got through more pairs but it was easier than listening to wailing about how grim Clarks shoes were.

Thanks all, seems Kickers are the fave, although expensive for growing feet!

Kickers boots here. They are allowed at our school even though boots normally aren't

Birdinthetree · 31/07/2018 05:58

No boots allowed st dds school which is frustrating because she has very narrow feet and if they allowed boots we’d have a better chance of getting something more sensible from a weather perspective than her current option which is s Mary Jane shoe from an independent shop. No other school shoes fit.
