Ds will be in year 6 in September, he is currently at a catholic primary school. I like the sound of both the above schools and will go to their open evenings/days. I have been told that these are both first choice schools and to be very careful in my choices as my child could end up with no school to go to! and therefore not to bother with Cardinal Vaughn as it's extremely difficult to get a child into (apparently parents need to do 6 things in church before being considered) and TM has "gone downhill". Of course I understand we will have to make the final decision, but anyone out there whose child has been/is at any of these schools would love to hear your experiences...Thanks!

Thomas More specialises in languages - a friends daughter who is there loves it for that reason - she is learning mandarin. She went to a catholic primary but parents aren't especially religious. I know someone with a son at Cardinal Vaughan - he is very church connected. His son is not a high achiever but he says the ethos of the school is that they will raise the pupil up by a least a grade. Think there is a strong emphasis on religious education there. Sorry can't be more help

no, you have both been of great help..if i look at it, the primary he is at isnt as "strict" with regards to religious education as some others, also he has Italian as a second language, which makes me lean more towards Thomas More
