Reward Trip Criteria?

Does your school do Reward trips at the end of the year? If so what's the criteria your school use to select pupils?

They've stopped trips because it was costing too much to staff, but they have reward film. I think sometimes a pizza delivery is involved.

The criteria is getting a certain score, I think 4 out of 5. It used to be an average of what each teacher awarded for engagement, but now attendance, homework lates, progress, behaviour referrals etc are taken in to account.

The criteria at ours is to have nothing less than a B on their reports for behaviour for learning, and also an average of 3 on their behaviour scores, whatever they are

DS3's school:

Level 1 sanction: lunchtime detention
Level 2 sanction: after-school detention
Level 3 sanction: Saturday detention

If you get through the first 2.5 terms (beginning of September to end of May) with no sanctions over Level 1, you are invited to take part in the reward activity which takes place after the exams.

If you have a whole term without any sanctions at all, you get a 'golden ticket'. If you get a Level 2 after that, you have to do the detention at the time, but the golden ticket can be used to prevent one Level 2 detention from going on your report and excluding you from the reward activity.

This year for DS3:

  • Autumn term: no detentions at all (golden ticket)
  • Spring term: one Level 2 detention (for three missed homeworks in one term in one subject). Did the detention, used the golden ticket to stop it from being recorded on the report.
  • Summer term: no detentions, reward activity (laser tag).

All students take part in reward day. The activity depends on the number of credits they have for the year.

As far as I am aware our school doesn't do this.

They give out credits during the year with mini rewards for reaching targets (eg lunch queue busting).
They also get a badge for reaching 1000 stamps in the planner which are given every lesson unless missing hw, disruption etc.

DD's school has merit trips. If you get above a certain number of merits you get invited.

Why do you ask, @newusername12345 ?
