Boarding Secondary schools for my 14yr daughter

My daughter really dislikes the school she is at right now and we are looking for a creative, comfortable and enjoyable school for her. preferably a boarding school (we live in surrey) and one which hopefully gives out drama scholarships or bursaries.
I've heard schools like Bedales or frensham heights would be good..

Any thought would be very appreciated!

I know two girls who went to Abbots Bromley which is very Arts and performance orientated. It is in Staffs but maybe that's not s big deal if boarding?

I am assuming that your DD is currently year9, and you are seeking a year10 place for September. Starting later than that is likely to be a problem, as GCSE courses wil, have started.

You are highly unlikely to get a scholarship, as these would normally be awarded at the standard entry point.

And at this late stage you are highly unlikely to secure a bursary either, as funds will have been allocated for the next school year. But it's always worth asking, in case there is any money just waiting to be spent.

Schools are about to break up, some already have. So it may not be possible for you to be visit the school when the pupils are there. That would make me uncomfortable, but you might be OK with it. Or are you planning ahead for Sixth form?

The two you name may well be suitable. Also Brighton College

Queenswood in Hertfordshire is the one for Drama but, you will find that going at 14 probably means the bursary pot has gone to others. You usually apply for y7 or y9. Also Drama scholarships are hotly contested by existing girls. They are not handed around like smarties. They are also worth next to nothing so a bursary is the main source of funding you need.

There are the several specialist performing arts/drama schools but as others have said, they are unlikely to have places (or scholarships) for this September.

Are you looking for this September. If so being slightly further from London may be helpful to find space. You also need to find a school with plenty of boarders.
Do you want all girls or coed.?
Coed Bedes near East Bourne maybe worth a look
Girls Mayfield?
Heathfield near ascot is supposed to be good for Aart
