Year 7 French revision resources

DS in year 7 has been told he will be having end of year assessments over the next few weeks for all his subjects. He does both Spanish and French but his French teacher is on long term sick leave and it's been around 2 months since he's had a French lesson.

He is starting to get really anxious about the assessment as he can barely remember anything so I'm looking for some straight forward resources that I can run over the basics with him.

I have tried telling him not to worry and his results don't mean anything at this point but he is a worrier by nature and I know if I do some revision with him it will really help him.

Can anyone please advise where I might find some resources? Nothing too advanced but just to go over the basics they would be expected to know in year 7. Thank you very much.

Try to find out from another French teacher whether the school is subscribed to an website such as Linguascope or Pearson ActiveLearn.

If you can get hold of the login details, it should be set up so he can click on topics and practise them.

Failing that, CGP do a revision guide for KS3 French which covers the basics.

The assessments will probably cover at least some out of the following:
Speaking: My name is . I am years old. I have _ brothers/sisters. Etc.
Writing: similar to above. He needs to practise writing some basic sentences about himself.
Listening
Reading

To be honest, I would assume the test is likely to be based on his textbook (assuming he has one?) He's be best off going through his textbook and looking over the work he HAS done this year and learning vocab etc. You might need to help him with this. Then at least you'd know which topics he's covered / was supposed to cover and you could then find online resources and exercises to back it up.

There are obviously the basics (name, age etc) but the problem is that different courses do things in a different order. He might spend ages revising house and home only to find out they do that in Yr 8 etc. I'd definitely recommend targeted revision rather than general.

Thank you both. I should have mentioned I the op that his text book is missing. That was my first plan however no one in his class has their books, they are presumably with their original teacher and haven't turned up since she went off sick.

Some good places to start though, he will remember if they have covered a certain area, just not necessarily how to say / write it!

Could you email the head of department to ask for pointers? I'm sure he/she wouldn't mind at all. They are usually only too happy to have pupils who are keen to learn and do well. No one would want your son to be feeling anxious about the assessments either.
