Revising after Mocks

My DS finished his mocks about 10 days ago and he's completely worn out and run down. He'd been working really hard and throughout the Christmas holidays as they started when he went back . I'm thinking he really needs a complete break now and to re start revising straight after half term .
How long have others taken off from revising after mocks ? Don't want him to burn out .

Mocks finished for ds around 20th Jan. We won't press any revision on him until after half term - maybe not until March. They are still doing the curriculum/normal homework in the sciences. The only thing we'll press is for him to get his Graphics and DT folders sorted/finishef - starting this half term. Get that done before revision starts again.

Good to know others are having a break too . Think they all need it .

My DD finished her mocks last Tuesday and is utterly exhausted. Other than homework and her weekly maths tutor, we've agreed she'll now have a 2 week break, including half term. She'll then resume revision with an hour a day and a fluid timetable to begin with so that she doesn't feel too pressured.

She turns 16 during half term and I've decreed it a week of relaxing, pampering and recuperating. She needs to clear her head and I need to clear mine!

My dd finished her mocks two weeks ago - she had a week off ...then the plan was to do 1 hr most day's but I'm finding she is getting some revision work come out from school and there seems to be allot of homework flying around ...She goes to Maths after school/ French tutor and History clinics. She herself stated that she wants to revise during HT and she is going into school on one day for DT...I'm trying to encourage revision when she doesn't have any other work because I'd rather start early with little chunks and build up - I suppose all children are different and we have to adapt to what works for our DC.

I agree starting early and gradually building up is better than cramming everything towards the end. I underestimated the stress my DS would feel during his mocks. I think it's difficult for this cohort with the new harder exams ,so much curriculum to get through and unclear grade boundaries etc.
