6th Form Applications via UCAS Progress - personal statement

Posting here as some of you are likely to have the exact answer for me.
DD wants to apply for 6th form at 3 local schools. They don't all offer the same courses, so her courses will be different at each (with one in common - Further Maths). The inline guidance is all about tailoring your personal statement to suit the courses you're applying for.

For her first application, School A, she has a great PS. All she needs to do is hit the button on this application. But if she does so, and then begins her application for School B, can she then add a different personal statement more tailored to her choices at School B. And so on for School C. She is reluctant to hit the button until she knows whether the same statement will have to do for all 3 applications.

I've phoned UCAS Progress and am awaiting their email, but getting worried as School A's applications close in a couple of days.

Anyone got any advice?

Bumping for you, I have no advice on this, in fact I’ve never heard of UCAS progress despite having a DD in sixth form currently.
I will be watching with interest.
I assume your DD cannot just apply directly to the schools she’s interested in?

I think it's one personal statement for all applications - on the advice pages it says about completing your profile, including personal statement, then adding the courses you want to apply for.

It's the same with UCAS applications for uni - 1 personal statement for all of your university applications, even though the courses might be different.

I've had an email back from UCAS Progress.
Apparently, you can send a tailored personal statement with each application.
I haven't had the pleasure of sixth form applications since 2011, this Progress system must be new. Perhaps you don't have to use it if you are staying on at the current school's 6th form.
In addition to her current school, DD is also applying to a couple of other schools who offer the exact A levels she wants, rather than her school which offers 'something like' choices.
She's such a fusspot.

Interesting that it's different to university UCAS! I suppose it has far fewer users. Good luck with the applications, writing one personal statement is bad enough!

Actually there is the ability to send different personal statements to different universities on UCAS, but it's the exception rather than the rule.
Some universities offer it as an option e.g. Durham.
Interestingly, my DS applied to Durham (as did some of his friends) and although they were all applying to the same course and had similar academic profiles they got their offers at different times. The girl who sent a separate personal statement got her offer within 2 weeks of her application, whereas DS and the others didn't get theirs until after the closing date for UCAS in mid-Jan!

I hadn't heard of this system, but if you still need an answer, you could head to the Further Education board. There's a very busy thread on there called something like Christmas term Year 13 - with lots of posters who are a bit further down the line and who are always very helpful - they may know the answer.

Sixth forms in our area use UCAS Progress. It's one statement to fit all. DC1 was applying for IB or A levels so found it very hard! Then, having had advice from both 6ths, the statement focused on their experience & interests then ambitions. The ambition could be reached via A Level or IB, so it worked out fine. Got offers from both... then chose IB.
