DS1 has started Alevel this Sep. He is happy with the college, and is coping well with the studying. However, he feels tired every day. I understant it is now a long day, get up at 6:45, back to house nearly 6 for 3 afternoon, earlier the other 2 afternoon.

How does you child feel?

When I was doing my gcses and a-levels I was needing 11 hours sleep a night. I was going 8.30pm-7.30am every night. I think it's how much it mentally tires you out.
Then when I was in my early 20s i started a new job with required 3 months at a training school and the same thing happened, needing 11 hours sleep a night and I used to have 30 min naps on my lunch break.
I think I get worn out when something's mentally draining!!!

Thanks! Yes, I think that's probablly why, all the courses moves more fast, and homeworks are more in depth compare to GCSE. Then he spends 2 hours on the journeys.

Some of his classmates works during some evenings, I don't know how they still find energy to do that.

Dd1's in year 12 and it's 2 extra hours of school over last year including travel. She was quite worried last week as she was really tired and I think she was wondering if she was going to cope. Then they got talking at school and they all said that they were tired, and going to bed early/taking naps and she cheered up no end.

Thank you very much, Witchend. That really helps.
DS1 comes home everyday and tells me, it's a good day but I am so tired. 2 weeks passed, he still feels tired. I was quite worried, but don't know what we can do. This morning he told me there was a classmated fell into sleep during the lesson yesterday, teacher had to wake him up. I guess tiring is a common thing at the moment. Hopefully, they get used to it, and then can adjust it back.
