DD just finishing year 7 and although I wasn't planning on chucking out her books quite yet I was wondering if they are useful to refer back to in the next few years or if they should just go in the loft will all the other school nostalgia!

I kept the previous years books then binned the rest, when I finished university I binned all my notes apart from the electronic ones.

We kept for DD1, but it was rather pointless.
I suspect we will do the same with DD2 though. Smile

I am in the process of trying to get DS (19 at uni) to part with his collection of books dating back to primary school. The house is full.

I've kept everything in an old blanket box for DC who are now teenagers since they were at Nursery school. Blush

Blanket box is now too heavy to lift and the lid doesn't shut as too full and I have this years books to fit in..

Time for a sort out.... will keep secondary school books in subjects they are doing as useful for revision but have decided to ditch most of the primary school stuff

Some schools expect pupils to carry on using their books from the previous year if they are not full up, so just check what your school does before you chuck them all!

We were told to keep all secondary school books because the new GCSEs are linear, so they include content from all previous years.

Eye - agreed, I've kept books for the options they have taken
