Hi we are moving to St Albans and was wondering if anyone can recommend good Independant schools please
Our DD is 11 and not very academic so selective schools are not an option .

St Columba's is the only non selective in St Albans - although there is still an entrance test.

Oops sorry, I misread - that's boys only.

Girls option would be Abbotts Hill in Hemel Hempstead.

You could look at sherardswood in Welwyn, Aldenham, st Margaret's Bushey. Queenswood potters bar. Princess Helena hitchen.
Royal Masonic Rickmansworth. All a bit of a drive but doable

YY to Queenswood. Not hot housey at all, lovely school. Lots to offer.

If she's good at drama, music or sports definitely take a look.

Think you meant to type Independent schools - spellcheckers / pred text etc -

STAGS excellent non selective state girls school would be my first choice before private

Why do you want independent? Schools in St Albans are so good that's the main reason people move here!

Queenswood is the best for a slightly less academic girl because there is so much else to do. There are plenty of academic girls there but not everyone. I agree sport, drama, music and dance are excellent.

queenswood are top for value added. They will get the grades.

They jus got 79%A*-B at A Level
