Please can you help me with an initial short list of good schools that take girls (co-ed or single sex) at 13+. If you have info. On numbers of spaces for 13+ v 11+ that would also be helpful. Looking to figure out potential paths for our daughter from her prep which prepares for the 13+. She could leave earlier of course but would rather she stays until 13+.

More north (or Midlands) Shrewsbury, Repton and Ampleforth

Morton hall if I were local I'd send dd there in a heartbeat

Most GDST schools have a predominantly 11+ intake.

What about St Peter's in York? I'm sure they have lots of day pupils.

Moreton Hall or Shrewsbury School, both in Shropshire although the latter is predominantly boys.

I think the terms above average in her class and giving an academic school such as WA a shot, really tell me your DD would need pushing to achieve a place at this school. At our old prep, Godstowe in High Wycombe I would not have said this was a typical WA profile. Do you have a scholarship class or just one class per year? Do check the leavers' destinations for Godstowe girls at 13. I don't think too many go north though.

We're in the process of moving DD to a prep from a less academic independent. I want to know more for when she starts. I know where she sits academically at the moment as she had to sit an assessment. I expect, being in the more academic prep she will come on further (not sure how far though at this stage obviously).
