Using a processor in college BTEC / GCSE

Hi It's been a struugle but DD has arrived at 6th form for what they are kindly calling a bridging year. Didn't do too well at GCSEs ( got 5/10 Inc one remark). So we now have a diagnosis of Dyslexia and Dyspraxia and college are being very helpful and have given her a processor (we couldn't get one at secondary but didn't have a formal diagnosis). I'd like to ask how this works for students as she's never used one in class before.
She can send notes home via email or we can use a memory stick but much of the work given is on designed paperwork - so for BTEC it seems to be fill in words which isn't too bad, but for one GCSE she been given worksheets with space for lengthy answers - I suppose she can type these up on a separate sheet? Just wondering how other students work?

type on a separate sheet - that's what DD did for her English GCSEs
