Quick question re GCSEs if someone could help.

How much time is allocated per week for lessons in each subject assuming taking typical number of 10? Trying to find an average amount of allotted time for Physics and Maths GCSE in particular?

Long story why, but thanks for any help!

In my school 5 hours per week for maths, plus an extra 1 as intervention if behind target (they are taken out of PE).

Ds has 5 hours a week of science (per fortnight works out to 3 hrs each physics, chemistry and biology plus one hr practical).

4.5 hrs each maths and English.

2.5 hrs per option subject (X 4)

1 hr PSHE

Whole afternoon games.

Independent school so 2.5 hours more teaching per week than state.

DS 13.5 GCSEs (shortcourse IT for the half)

50 minute lesson over 2 week timetable

English 6 lessons
Maths 4 lessons (top set taking further maths as well)
Geography and History options both 5 lessons
IT 2 lessons
Everything else inc PE are 4 lessons over the fortnight.

Looking at it like this I'd say not enough time for maths at all but they've been covering GCSE work since year 8 in maths and have covered the further maths syllabus in yr10/11. Fingers crossed exams start next month.

Sorry, meant to add, all three science subjects have 4 lessons each per fortnight as well.
