Anyone else's house look like an explosion in WH Smiths?

DS1's bedroom, the dining room, the living room. Papers and ring binders, text books and pens everywhere. Library books all piled up.

Or is everyone else's new 6th Former all super organised? I daren't touch or move a single piece of paper in case it's important....

He's only just chucked all his GCSE revision and books too.

Dd seems to keep most stuff in her room. But I can't believe the massive arch leave folders she carts to school every day. I thought she was bonkers until I was waiting outside at pick up time and saw another sixth former doing the same.
Is your ds tired? Dd is heading for bed each night at 9.30!

He is shattered. His brain must be full to overflowing. He would be having early nights if he wasn't still doing HW. Sad

He has been carrying the money for a locker around for 2 weeks but hasn't sorted one yet. Hmm That would improve things greatly.

I have carefully moved a pile of books/files/loose paper from the dining table and deposited it onto his desk in exactly the same order.

Very daring for you to actually move stuff.

Dd has a locker as she reserved one on the first day, then we had to quickly find somewhere that sold padlocks. This is especially useful as she is doing PE.
Last night she couldn't keep her eyes open any longer, and decided to finish her homework in her free.

I think there's a lot to get used to isn't there? The use of 'frees' seems to be one that had to be explained. Grin

He has an hour bus ride each way and I have said to him that he could get a bit of work done then.

Hmm, I thought frees were for 'reading around their subject' not homework, but at the moment I'll keep quiet. Dd bus ride is 1/2 hour, but the bus is a bit of a scrum, is not sure it would work.
She is already talking about taking work on holiday with her at half term Sad

I told DD she could have small files until her paperwork burst out of them and she needed lever arch. She has used about a million plastic pockets and has more pens than WH Smith.

She uses her 'frees' for homework.

DS has been using frees for HW. Apparently you are not allowed to sit on the sofas in the 6th Form common room and study, not even to read. You must be sat at a desk.

YY to polypockets HSMM, he seems to have millions of them too. My friend has just given me 3 business books her DS has finished with so I have piled them on top of the library books amongst the ring binders. looks like an art installation.

That makes me feel a bit better about the frees! Apparently the study area was so busy on Friday, there was nowhere to sit but the floor!

he has returned today with details of a book we have to buy from school. And 3 trips so far. £18 for the book.
