Top tips needed - starting Y7

DS starts in two weeks and I feel a bit clueless. I left school a long, long time ago which doesn't help.

So can you give me your top tips please?

If you know other parents, take what they say with a pinch of salt. It is a transition for parents too - and some people want or expect similar levels of communication and involvement as they did at primary. Secondary schools are large and complex organisations and IME and IMO, different dc have very different experiences and find their way through in different ways. If you have problems or questions, go straight to the tutor (or whoever). I hope your ds has a very happy start.
