Bit of controversy at our school at the mo - it is usually very strict on uniform - year 11s have a leavers assembly just before half term, prob similar to most schools, as it's the last day that the whole of the year group spend together.

The year 11s then come in for their exams/revision sessions as and when, in their own clothes. I don't see a problem with this but there have been a few complaints - mainly about some kids looking scruffy, but also about girls in 'inappropriate' clothing - very short shorts, crop tops etc.

Just wondered what MN view is. This is the first year the school have done this.

At university students can wear what the hell they want and it appears not to impact on academic achievements.
So mufti for exams would seem to be something that isn't worth makin a fuss over.

At DS's school, uniform always had to be worn during external exams. The only slight concession was they were allowed to wear their leavers hoodies instead of the usual school sweatshirt. If anyone was sitting an exam on a Mufti day then they still had to wear uniform. This is not a school that invents rules for the sake of them so not sure why they insisted that the few wore uniform for the sake of an exam lasting a couple ofhours max.

DS is in 6th form now so there is no uniform - so no rules on clothing for exams.

Full uniform at DS' school. Leavers day was just before half term and the school sent a letter saying let them sign shirts by all means but not blazers as these have to be worn in the exam hall.
