Hi
I need some help with my appeal. The panel hearing is due next Thursday.
The school says they can not admit any more pupils above its published admission number without prejudice to the provision of efficient education and the efficient use of resources. Then they list the reason why, they mention small class rooms that can't accomodate over 30 pupils. They mention common areas such as dining rooms and halls. They say kids who eat sandwiches have to eat in gyms and classrooms. They talk about health and safety issues.
The school's net capacity is 1781(this is their new capacity)
They have 300 students in each year group I each year group from 7-10.
The school has a published admission number of 300 for year 7.
I am a bit confused with the numbers. When I checked OFSTED's report of the school(which was done in 2013) the school's net capacity was 1750 the number of pupis on roll was 1789 and out of this number 298 are sixth form student. That gives us 1491 secondary aged pupils and 1500 are allowed according to school admission. So that means they went over their net capacity for the sixth form student. Am I understending it correct? Doesn't that mean they willing to prejudice the school because of their sixth form but not for year 7-11? In that case they do not follow their admission procedure,is that correct?
The pupils number increased each year since 2008 and their achievements was better each year so didn't seem to affect the school at all.
I am not basing my appeal on the first stage, just want the panel to see my child acceptance won't have much affect on the school itself.
My daughter has confident and social issues. She is shy and self conscious. Took her a long time to make friends. Got letters from school and gp. I would gladly give more information trough PM as I don't want to write. Y main issue here.
Any help and advice would be highly appreciated.
