Please - advice needed!
I am moving from overseas - not planned well in advance. Little I could do though, got a job offer all of a sudden))
SO I am frantically looking for good schools - my son will need to be in Y7 in September. Of course admission process is pretty much over by now)))
Anyway. Looking at Salesian, Eagle House, probably Lambrook - if they have any places available that is))
PLEASE help with any info / insights - very much appreciated!!
THANK YOU))

St George's, Weybridge and Reading Blue Coats both run school buses from Camberley

lord wandworth college, bearwood college (which has just been taken over by another owner) also do buses from Camberley.

Thank you !
I will be prepared to go further afield even.... Looked at the school league tables, nothing really in the area((( apart from Wellington (priced out) and RGS Guildford (gotta kill yourself over entrance process)))))

have a look on the independent schools website as they have an area search. Problem likely to be if they have space for a yr 7 in September as most test by January. If looking further afield try Cranleigh, Duke of Kent, King Edwards Witley, St Edmunds, Royal School (Hindhead), Reeds (Cobham) or the Redhill/Reigate area. All very different schools with very different fees too, roughly all about an hour from Guildford so you would need to check journey times, some do buses from Guildford (but not from the train station)

As others have said the challenge is that the admission process will be over for most schools. Obviously you should ring them but be prepared that it may be a no go.
Worth considering prep schools which end in Y8 - I don't know but I would have thought they may have spaces as of course they lose some children in Y6. There is an issue though with pre testing for yr9 entry to many public schools so you will need to investigate this.
There is also LVS in Ascot which is non selective and I guess therefore has a different admission process BUT the local view is that it is "Comp for rich kids" (aware this may be very harsh and apols if this offends anyone) but being honest I would certainly chose most of the local state options in preference to LVS

Thank you for sharing info about LVS Ascot.... I was looking at their website yesterday ))))
Emailed several schools, no reply yet as everyone is on Easter break. Salesian college came back though, a few places left there -we will need to do an entrance exam (something to look forward to , did not prepare for it)))))

That's good news about Salesian V, my lad starts there in Sept. Smile It seems a very welcoming school and is also (whisper) rather more affordable than most of the other local options. The Catholic thing will be a bit of a shock to our agnostic sensibilities but the overall caring ethos of the school seems lovely.
