DD showed me this

www.revisionapp.co.uk/product/online-gcse-revision/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=click&utm_campaign=RA+Clicks+1

£19.99 instead of £39.99 - I don't mind paying £19.99 if it's going to be useful to her but felt the need to ask 'the power of MN' first in case there's some hidden agenda where I am committed to monthly payments until she well through uni or there is some thread I haven't seen advising us to avoid like the plague Wink

All comments greatly appreciate in advance Grin

And I await someone telling ME to get it for myself due to my complete inability to spell the word 'revision'...

Your child will have instant access at home & on their phone. Ensuring they can revise at every possible opportunity.

Note the use of the word 'can' rather than 'will'. Smile

Well - that's true - the opportunity to revise is always there with or without an app but whether she chooses to is another matter! Grin

I just liked the sound of access to past papers and that malarkey.

Don't want to rush in to it only to have someone say 'Oh no - avoid like the plague' Confused

The past papers wouldn't sell it to me as they are all available to download from each exam board's website, along with the mark schemes.

I like the idea of the videos, as DS1 is a visual learner, but not sure how simplistic they would be. He finds that BBC bitesize doesn't give enough info on each topic, so he ends up having to add his own notes anyway. CGP revision guides have the same problem.

Does her school subscribe to GCSE Pod? It's a similar thing - short podcasts/videos and they're linked to specific GCSE specifications. If the school subscribes, it's free for students.

As with all revision techniques, what works for one may not work for another but GCSE Pod is fairly popular with kids I teach because it's accessible everywhere and can be done in short bursts. Get her to ask at school

Thanks both of you.

I'll get her to look at her exam boards' websites and ask about GCSE Pod - cheers Smile
