Hello!
We are considering Surbiton High and Tiffin Girls sixth form, would appreciate any help. For example, class sizes and also if Tiffin graduates (or perhaps Surbiton High) have any advantages for entering university. My DD is thinking of Art/Math/History/Chemistry A-levels.

Can't comment out of experience in the specific schools but certainly know pupils who have been very happy in the Surbiton Sixth Form (and some less so at Tiffin)

No schools have an advantage in uni admissions. They are interested in whether the student will succeed on the course so for many course they don't look beyond the predicted grades. Even on more competitive courses with interviews they are focused on academics. If anything eg Oxbridge interviewers will cut less slack to a pupil who has had the advantages of a private education but Tiffin is not a standard state school (nor are any of the outstanding comps around here) so they would not make any allowances to a pupil from there either. They are focused on the individual and whether they will best succeed on the course.

Both schools enable their brightest pupils to get the crucial grades, so you can chose the school your daughter thinks she will be happiest in, she will do better there. Three years ago my DD moved to a sixth form in a less selective local indie school, she wasn't just happier there but did better academically, as in got an A in a subject that her old school had no pupils achieving an A in.

Thanks!
I just want to realize if Surbiton High is worth paying 30K for the two years compared to Tiffin. No doubt it is worth compared to other local state sixth forms, but not sure about Tiffin.

An someone who has paid school fees for my children, I would say if you can get a place at a top State school, then you should take it and spend the money on some fabulous holidays! Leave the school fees for us unfortunates who never managed to get places at decent state schools.
