School Trip to Paris

Hi.
In a couple of weeks, my year 8 child is off to a Euro Disney with school for a couple of days and on one day, they are off into Paris City to visit a few places, eat out etc.
With all of the recent trouble in Paris, would you send your child? It's not really Disney I'm concerned about.....and I'm not worrying about any more shootings really I don't think. It's more the worry about more mass demos and protests and what that may entail. With 10000 troops with weapons being sent into Paris etc and the implications if something kicked off whilst they were there.
I just feel slightly uneasy about them going. Any thoughts?

So basically foreign DC are fair game for terrorists but French DC aren't? Charming!

Just replied to them politely saying the same as you.
dd will never forgive me if I say she is the only one who can't go.

I will give her the number of my friend in central Paris I guess and a sheet of helpful phrases in case she got split up from the group etc.
Or tell her she can't go and be never forgiven!

Don't suppose the school is in Trafford is it? Trip is under the guise of a 'maths' project?

Verbena37 · 25/01/2015 23:58

No. Their trip is under the guise of 'tourism'. I don't mind.....we certainly won't be going as a family so it's her one chance of going to Disney. I would have rather paid for the four days in Paris but oh well.....at least they wil get one day in the city.

It's probably safer now than before with all the extra police that have been brought in! Let DC go, my kids loved it!

My DS is due to go in a couple of months. He's year 8 too. I'm unsure about letting him go to be honest.

My friend in central Paris said she saw two separate groups of French school children out in the city last week so perhaps the suspension has been lifted?
Did is so excited and the day in Paris seems extremely organised b u the tour company so doesn't look as though they will be doing much wondering around the streets anyway.

Hi Bonsoir don't suppose you know if they have lifted the suspension on school groups do you? My friend thought she saw two separate groups in the city last week but she wasn't sure if they were French arthey were too far away.
