Whit Gift vs Dulwich

Does anyone have any advice on this matter, we are currently already in the Junior school at DC and as our son is extremely sporty we are considering whitgift.

In addition to this we make such considerations because of the large sports remission whitgift offers.

I was at the Whitgift open morning yesterday and the headmaster and all the staff were at great pains to play down the sporting side. I think that's why the size of sports scholarships last year were so much lower than expected. The Head's speech included three musical performances - they're definitely pushing the arts a lot more and trying to play down the sports side.

You obviously have nothing to lose by applying and seeing what happens, but as schoolsdilemma has indicated the sports scholarships at 11+ haven't been that generous in the last year or so, and they have been fiercely competitive. You may do better by waiting until 13+ when larger scholarships are more typically available, and your son may have had a chance to get county or national awards which may strengthen his appeal.
