Hi,
My son got a C in his AQA english lit GCSE. He was predicted a B. He's dyspraxic and we are pleased with a C but can't help wondering. He also got a C in language- fair enough really after they screwed him over taking out S&L (which he got a 5 in).
Looking at the grade boundaries he was 2ums off a B (he got 138 and a B is 140 I think). I've repeatedly asked school if they think a remark of one of the papers is worth it but they haven't responded. Keep saying will get back to me but never do.
His marks: paper 97102H (poetry I think) are 53/b (where 56 a) so a really high B. Paper 97101H (modern text I think) was 48 which is exactly a C. So obviously the modern text he did badly in. This was one of his first exams and I know even with extra time he didnt finish it. He said at the time he missed out the concluding paragraph of the final question.
Do you think theres any point asking for a remark? Would missing out the last paragraph cost him so many points? Basically making it impossible to score any higher than borderline? He was very confident about what he'd written he just didnt finish.
He is not bothered & and I don't want to risk the mark going down.
Wwyd?
