My DD is starting doing A level at QESG. I am so worried. Can you give any information about this school please and about A Levels in this school. Thank you.

My DD has just finished there - got v good A level results and is now off to university. Her friends seem to have got good results as well and seem to be going off to their 1st choice unis. She's been there since y7 and chose to remain in the 6th form, even though she was offered places at more academic schools. Teaching has been mostly good - in general varied - varies from subject to subject.

Is your DD going into the 6th form from another school? What is it that you're worried about?

Thanks Debjud for replying. Yes my DD is going to 6th form from another school.
I am worrying about how she will settling down in new school, about teaching and relationship with girls. Also quite a long travel to school from our house. Can I ask you, are you should be at school every day and from 8.40? Or this depence time table and which subject you doing? Is your DD did any sports at school? Many thanks.

I think if you or your DD is worried about anything, the Head of 6th form is v friendly and accessible. You will find that there are quite a number of other girls also coming from other schools, so it might be that she can hook up with them.

Presumably you have already checked out the travel from your house - they are supposed to be there every day from 8.40, though my DD often didn't do that if she didn't have a first period lesson. They may be getting stricter about that though - I think my DD got away with quite a lot!

My DD took part in the football team. There's also netball and swimming, though mine wasn't v interested in those. There may be other sports that mine didn't get involved in.

Also - about the teaching: In my experience your DD has to get on and do the work. If she doesn't hand work in, we found that the teachers didn't chase up much. This worked out fine for my DD in the end, because she likes to work at her own speed, but it might not be good for others. This also might vary from teacher to teacher and subject to subject.

Thank you very much Debjud.
