Just that. Dc about to start at local school next week (yr8) having been boarding the past 2 years.
Last time they were at local school it was primary and cute lunch bags were all the rage.
Wonderong whats cool for 12/13yos these days.?
She won't have a locker and will also be carrying her school bag and games bag.

Suggestions and advice needed. Links appreciated tooGrin .
TIA

Plain plastic boxes are the only thing acceptable - so I was informed

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 26/08/2014 16:31

A plastic Tupperware type box or plastic bag was all anyone ever used when I was in high school (10 year ago). Don't imagine things have changed much since but I'm marking my place to see if I'm wrong Grin

Nothing is cool, the aim is to not stand out. Nondescript Tupperware is best.

I thought as much. May need to pop to Wilkos or see what Asda has.
I have seen coloured plastic boxes and some with compartments - are these too uncool do you think?

So plain dull and non descrpt plastic box should do the trick then. Smile

Yes until year ten when the go back to character lunch boxes eg peppa pig and my little pony because it's ironic.

SoonToBeSix · 26/08/2014 16:52

They not the!

KittiesInsane · 26/08/2014 16:53

Plain, cheap box for the first week while she eyes up what everyone else has (and the answer may well be 'canteen chips').

DoristheCamel · 26/08/2014 17:59

Soontobesix - yes my yr 11dc (still boarding) wants my little pony bedding to take back to school.Grin
I am hoping she will eat in the canteen eventually but she needs a pre-pay card to do so which we don't yet have.
I think I will get a basuc plastic box for the first week.
Thanks.

DD is 14 and the smallest plainest Tupperware is marginally acceptable although she rarely takes anything. She has a massive breakfast and the makes a giant scooby doo style sandwich when she gets home.
