2015 GCSEs AQA Triple Science: How are they organised/tested?

I'm sorry asking this again as I know it's been asked over and over again!

But- can someone 'in the know' spell out to me:

When were/are the CAs for these?
What percentage of the overall mark do the CAs represent?

What are the three written papers per subject? Is one a prac, for instance?

Do all 3 carry the same percentage of the marks?

Apart from the 3 x 3 exams they sit in May/June 2015, and the CAs, are there any other 'tests' towards the final grade?

DS is a typical gormless teenager. He doesn't appear to know which 'tests' are 'the real thing', and which are mocks. He came home gloomily telling me he'd cocked up this CA and that 'test' to the extent I called the school and spoke to one of his teachers- with maybe a view to getting DS put into double science instead!- who was able to tell me that no, DS hadn't blown his GCSE and when the CAs etc were, but unfortunately, as the teacher had had to call me back, when I was at work, I was balancing the phone on my shoulder whilst trying to perform a tricky medical procedure with my hands so certainly couldn't take notes or ask questions!

TIA

CAs are whenever the school organises them. Up to three for each GCSE. The 3 exams are on the 3 units. No practical exams. All components (3 unit exams and CA) contribute 25%. No other assessments.

Sorry, to be clear, up to 3 CAs, and best mark submitted.

TheFallenMadonna · 26/08/2014 12:36

You can get specifications for each unit from AQA website.

Thanks and well, glory be! I asked DS whether he'd done all of the 'attempts' for the CA, carefully wording my enquiry so as to not confuse and confuddle (see my remark above at his gloominess upon 'messing up' apparently important tests...), but he eloquently informed me that in Triple fast-paced, which he's doing, they only get one shot at the CAs; he's done the Bio and the Chem one, and got As in both. He also knew they carried 25% of the marks!

Why is this the first I've heard of this?? Why did he appear not to know any of this in mid-July?!

Why? well, in our family it's normally a case of NOYB. more than just evasive, really

I thought the ISA was a practical, which they then do a paper on.Isa's are the normal trip up point for bright kids. They are SO easy that a couple of tiny careless slips knock you down to an A and I believe they don't do consequential marking. So if for example you calculate a figure wrong and then plot it on the graph, you are penalised twice. One of my science teacher friends thinks it crosses the line from 'harsh' to 'unfair'
