iGCSEs grades 2014 - not affected by govt changes and predicted chaos?

Is the predicted chaos in the press just about GCSEs grades - and will iGCSEs not be impacted as they are already terminal exams etc?

Less interference but most state schools and a lot of indies will have to stop doing them when they no longer count in league tables from 2017.

aggghast my DS's school only offer IGCSE they have not been included in many of the league tables for a while and they also only offer the harder Pre U again often not included in the league tables. Frankly I don't think they could care less. In fact they don't even publish their IGCSE results on their website, most parents at the school are not interested in IGCSE results.

aggghast - why will they have to stop doing them?

My son's state school does iGCSEs as they believe that the GCSE syllabuses do not prepare the kids sufficiently to be able to handle the equivalent A level.

happygardening - ours too - wonder if it is the same?
DC school does igsces and does not publish, is very academic school and massively oversubscribed - pursuit of learning, not pursuit of results.

Many good schools aren't bothered by league tables, neither are the parents.
I can't see why they would stop igcse in these circumstances.
My dd will be doing igcse as we would refuse to let her do GCSE's under the present system.
